IBM Metamerge (based in Norway) was established in 1998 after several years' research and planning as a consultancy practice specializing in the design and deployment of directory related solutions and services.

The network and systems of Internet-based businesses consume information about people and resources - this information is your company’s lifeblood. However, the Internet identity of an individual
or a resource is also virtual and does not belong to any one system or process, database or directory. This has a profound effect on how forward-thinking companies regard their identity infrastructure
and it forms the heart of the Metamerge vision.

The latest Metamerge brand was created in 2001 by Graven Images and visuals were prepared and passed to the chosen web development company for Metamerge. Unfortunately, they were unable to re-create the brand online to a sufficient quality. Alienation Design prompty stepped in at the request of Graven. Having worked with them in the past, they knew we could be relied upon to deliver the quality and customer satisfaction required for such a demanding client.

Since then we have also gone on to re-design the Metamerge Integrator Customer Support Site.

IBM acquired Metamerge in June 2002, adding their Directory Integration Software to IBM's Infrastructure Portfolio
