Infinite Data Storage (IDS) was founded in September 1999 by a leading product design and management team responsible for designing some of the key removable storage and writable CD products now used by millions across the world.

With over 100 years' experience in the data storage industry between them, and an impressive product list to their credit, the IDS team continues to build upon its expertise, bringing new and highly innovative products to market.

This is the second IDS website designed by Alienation. While the first site was more than acceptable at the time of launch (1999), the business emphasis and branding of IDS have since changed and it became apparent that the site was no longer optimised to maximise benefit to the company.

The new site was launched January 2003 and includes a partner's extranet area. The site is integrated with Alienation CMS and Alienation Emu.

The benefits of implementation of the project include an enhanced image of IDS to its partners, customers and investors. The site more effectively describes the business of IDS and encourages others to do business with them.

As IDS have a number of people around the world, the site is an important part of their communication strategy. The partner's extranet area allows for the cost effective sharing of information - images, software updates, specifications, etc. - in a secure environment.

Site visitors have significantly increased since the new site was launched with a 450% jump in the first 6 months. Importantly, the site includes many areas where key information is collected - mailing lists, partner signups, contact forms and press areas - all of which make the site an important marketing tool.

By transferring processes online, IDS have cut out a lot of the administration normally involved with signing up new partners, issuing press releases and prospecting new customers. Using Alienation Emu, communication channels between IDS and its partners and customers has been improved, impacting service to its customer base.

As one of Scotland's fastest growing companies, the new web site has the technology and flexibility to ensure it meets their needs for many years to come.
