writing for the webWriting effective copy for your website is critical to its performance. Because your writing for a dual “audience” - to please the search engines as well as your intended target human audience - even employing a professional copywriter will not guarantee success.
Our writing for the web training course covers:
- setting objectives - making sure you are clear about the purpose of your website and the role of the content in achieving it
- research & review - although its tempting to take the text from your 5 year old brochure and paste it into your website it might be a bit short sighted. Understanding what turns your customers on with relation to your products is a great starting point for creating compelling text
- content architecture - planning the structure of your website content, how it links together and drives visitor where you want them to go
- humans first - ensuring that what you write addresses first and foremost your human audience needs, grabs their attention and creates desire
- calls to action - how to encourage site visitors to take the next steps in your engagement process
- writing for search engines - spiders aren’t impressed by your grammar or slick prose, but do like repetition - up to a point. We’ll show you how to optimise keyword density without ruining your copy
